Primary Functions:

1. Supports Vehicle Weight

It acts as a spring to support the front of the vehicle, just like a conventional coil spring, but with air pressure.

It maintains proper ride height regardless of load (passengers, cargo, towing).

2. Provides Adaptive Ride Comfort

It absorbs road shocks and vibrations, making the ride smoother and more comfortable.

Works in conjunction with AIRMATIC or ADS (Adaptive Damping System) to adjust stiffness based on driving conditions (e.g. soft in comfort mode, firmer in sport mode).

3. Maintains Vehicle Leveling

Automatically adjusts height to keep the vehicle level, even when driving on uneven terrain or when heavily loaded.

This helps with safety, handling, and improved tire wear.

4. Adjustable Ride Height (Dynamic Control)

Works with the AIRMATIC control module to raise or lower the front suspension.

Example: Raise height for off-road or lower for better aerodynamics on the highway.

How It Works:

Compressed air (from an air compressor and valve block) fills a rubber air bladder inside the air spring.

Sensors and the control unit regulate the air pressure to adapt the spring rate and height in real time.
